Ahead of his appearance at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, later this year, Australia welcomes Stephen Bassett, American academic and executive director of the Paradigm Research Group (PRG), an advocacy organisation dedicated to changing government policy toward the extraterrestrial phenomena.
With recent polls showing one in five Australians believe aliens exist, and governments around the world now opening their “X-Files”, detailing secret investigations into UFO sightings and ET contact, Bassett’s unprecedented visit is set to spark much debate and media interest.
A political activist, lobbyist, commentator and columnist, in 1995 Bassett decided to bring his 15-year background in business development and consulting, and a degree in physics into the issues surrounding extraterrestrial-related phenomena. Since that time he has been in demand all over the world as a professional advocate of “Exopolitics” - the field exploring the impact of mass ET contact on the human race and our potential governments’ reaction.
“For 62 years, a truth embargo has been imposed by the US government on the formal acknowledgement of an ET presence engaging with the human race. This is the most important news story in the world today. The failure to bring about “Disclosure” - the official acknowledgement of this ET presence by world governments - is a huge barrier preventing the human race from moving forward”, says Bassett.
Back in 2001, Bassett’s Paradigm Research Group put its support firmly behind the so-called “Disclosure Project” with an international press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. The event featured the testimony of 70 US Government, military and agency employees, all witnesses to the ET and UFO phenomenon.
Bassett sees his forthcoming 11-city speaking tour of Australia, starting in Perth on June 26, as being vital in the quest for “Disclosure”.
“Australians are very interested in UFO/ET issues and there have been many sightings throughout your country. Elements within the Australian government are certainly aware of the ET presence and have gone along with ‘the truth embargo’ imposed by its good friend and ally, the United States. I want to help make Australian citizens aware of Exopolitics and learn what they think about the UFO/ET issues and the ongoing truth embargo”, he says.
Bassett will also be curious to discover where the Australian Government stands on Disclosure, given he believes the Obama administration could make a formal announcement in the not too distant future.
“I believe President Obama is acceptable as the "Disclosure President" to the military/intelligence, cross agency committees who manage the UFO/ET issues. Therefore, Disclosure could and should happen under his administration, and could happen at any time. If not, there is an increasing likelihood another nation will act first.”
