As an Advanced Practitioner of Health and Nutrition and a Credited Raw Nutritionist, I can assist you to achieve the optimal nutritional pathway tailored to meet your unique needs. I have learnt from my clients that every person is unique and one way will not suit everyone. My approach to assisting someone to change from the Standard Australian Diet (SAD) is what David Wolfe calls the “Add on” approach. Together we will allow your inner wisdom to guide us in adding a nutritionally dense food to your existing way of eating a bit at a time. I want you to have fun as you create for yourself The Best Nutritional Pathway Ever!

The first Nutritional and Advanced Health Consultation usually takes 1 and ½ hours. In this session, we will explore your personal lifestyle and nutritional choices, and, the reasons for making those choices. When we know the reasons behind our choices we become empowered to choose differently, and when we have tools with which to make empowering choices, we have leverage!

I am passionate about family nutrition and what we, as parents, are passing on to our children. Are we empowering them with good nutritional information for a healthy, successful and fun future? Children’s nutrition sits at the very heart of my being, as I am cutely aware due to my work with children what nutrition deficient food can do to developing minds and bodies.  I don’t blame parents because parents pass on only what we know to be right – the intention is good! However, what is being promoted in main stream society today as good nutrition is not all together correct. How do we know what is good for our body and mind? I know the answer to this question is knowledge. We need to befriend our body and gain some knowledge about how it works, only then can we really understand the true nutritional needs of our body and mind.

There are specific foods which feed and strengthen specific parts of our body and in many cases the food even looks like the part of the body it nourishes. These are known as signature foods and one such food is the walnut. Have you ever noticed that the walnut actually looks like a little brain? Ancient Greeks and Chinese referred to the walnut as brain food because it seemed to improve brain function. Today’s science reveals that it is the 70% of important polyunsaturated fat like Omega-3 and Omega-6 present in the walnut which makes it a good brain food – research has shown that a diet low in Omega-3 fatty acids can lead to depression. Walnuts are also high in Vitamins E and B6 and together with the polyunsaturated fatty acids; the humble walnut can offer good support for our nervous system. Walnuts can assist brain function during sustained periods of high brain activity, like studying throughout the day. Now, this would be good nutritional information for our children to inherit. If you are allergic to nuts then please seek professional advice in finding other sources of food which contain these nutritional properties.

An important fact to remember is this: illness and disease is caused by an unhealthy gut. Our bodies need 2 kilograms of healthy bacteria lining the inner surface of our gut if we are to have a healthy digestive system and a healthy body. The good microflora in our gut is destroyed by a number of things; the consumption of alcohol, trans fats, coffee, sugary foods and drinks, cigarette smoke, stress, antibiotics and other drugs just to name a few. The list is very long! My wife and I have made it our business to specialise in restoring and maintaining strong gut health which took us into studying and researching ancient cultures; the food they consumed and their overall health. We discovered that the cultures in which people lived long active lives all consumed some form of cultured or fermented food and drink. Our studies and research into cultured foods taught us that good bacteria like the ones we find in Probiotics and living in our gut, grow prolifically in cultured foods and drinks. So people who consume these foods and drinks daily are actually assisting their gut to maintain strong levels of good bacteria, and, as a result they enjoy good health and a long life.

If you are currently experiencing blotting, overeating, loss of appetite, headaches, weight gain or unable to loose excess body weight, foggy brain, lack of energy and illness then your gut in compromised and in need of prepare. I can assist you to replenish the good bacteria in your gut and in most cases this will restore gut health.
