Debbie Wootton
Massage Therapist and Reiki Practitioner

Debbie has been influenced by the healing power of massage for many years and has researched a variety of natural therapies from around the world. Following formal training in massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, and Reiki, Debbie promotes the benefits of massage as not only a physical healing practice for the body but also healing for the spirit and mind through relaxation.

The laying of hands is a common thread for natural healing – it lifts the spirit through comfort and reassurance (imagine the joy of a hug or a pat on the back). When combined with massage of muscles and soft tissue the experience is uplifting and results in a feeling of reconnection.

Introduce the elements of essential oils to the massage (used in traditional treatments and medicines since ancient times) or Reiki (an ancient healing therapy for your ‘life force’) and the massage becomes a holistic experience.

Massage is one of the oldest, simplest forms of therapy and is a system of stroking, pressing and kneading different areas of the body to relieve pain, relax, stimulate, and tone the body. Massage does much more than create a pleasant sensation on the skin, it also works on the soft tissues (the muscles, tendons, and ligaments) to improve muscle tone. Although it largely affects those muscles just under the skin, its benefits may also reach the deeper layers of muscle and possibly even the organs themselves. Massage also stimulates blood circulation and assists the lymphatic system (which runs parallel to the circulatory system), improving the elimination of waste throughout the body.

Some Benefits Of Massage:

  • Relaxing.
  • Stress Reduction
  • Soothing.
  • Healing.
  • Reassuring.
  • Eases tension, stiffness, and pain.
  • Improves breathing.
  • Emotional Balance
  • Detoxification
  • Increased Energy
  • Improved Circulation
  • Improved Sleeping Patterns
  • Improved Mobility & Range of Motion

Regular massage can have the effect of strengthening and toning the entire body mechanism, and so help to prevent unnecessary strains and injuries that might otherwise occur due to excess tension and any resulting structural weaknesses. Massage can stimulate or calm the nervous system, depending upon what is required by the individual, and thus help reduce fatigue, leaving the receiver with a feeling of replenished energy. At its best, massage has the potential to restore the individual physically, mentally and spiritually.

Testimonial:

Debbie,
I have had quite a few massages over the years and I the massage I experienced yesterday, was the best. I was made to feel very comfortable from the very beginning. The massage was perfectly adapted to my sore muscles; (due to a work out the previous night). I was a little worried that it would be uncomfortable, but it was not. You managed to ease the tension in my muscles and adapted your techniques perfectly by being aware of the way my body was reacting to the pressure and you adjusted accordingly. I would highly recommend you and will do so in the future. You created an environment of tranquility and peace and it was an experience I will be looking forward to repeating again in the near future. Love the energy in the NEW massage room too – perfect!
Thank you again, Lisa ♥

HOT STONE MASSAGE

Hot stone massage is a specialty massage that uses smooth, heated stones. The heat is both deeply relaxing and helps tight muscles release.

The heat of the rocks causes your muscles to relax, thus allowing the therapist to apply deeper, more precise pressure if desired or necessary. The heat contained in the rocks also relaxes your nerves, and may improve chakra flow if placed on chakra centres on your body.
